As a Korean, I have always wanted to maintain my cultural identity. At the same time, I hope that what I observe, learn, and experience while living in Germany will naturally infuse into my work.
Based on the traditional techniques of buncheong ceramics, I aim, as a contemporary young ceramic artist, to reinterpret them for the present. My goal is not simply to imitate tradition, but to reintroduce it into this moment through my own perspective and visual language.
My work explores the intersection of two cultures: maintaining the cultural roots of Korea while drawing on the experiences accumulated in the unfamiliar environment of Germany.
