The winner of the second edition of the Delft Ceramics Days 2024 is Ioana Tămaş. Part of this prize is this solo exhibition at Terra Delft Gallery.
“My work represents my personal research into human behavior and psychology. In my work I explore femininity as identity and symbol, but there is also a tendency towards the androgynous. I try to create images and forms of life that show both vulnerability and strength. What stands out in most of my sculptures are the pointed legs that I use to suggest roots, a symbol of leaning towards something, continued growth or a search for stability.” Ioana Tămaş work is constructed and decorated by hand. Characteristic is the use of unique lithographic decorations of her own design.
