15-day group tour for people interested in ceramics (14-16 participants)
China has a continuous history of 5,000 years and is the birthplace of ceramics. Jingdezhen, in Jiangxi Province, has historically been the porcelain capital of the world.
Jingdezhen is still a porcelain city; porcelain from Jingdezhen is considered by the Chinese to be of the highest quality. Today, 72% of Jingdezhen's population is still involved in ceramic production, there are 20,000 ceramic students, and more than 5,000 studios and galleries.
In Jingdezhen, you will visit museums, galleries, studios, factories, and there will be workshops and demonstrations over 10 days. From Jingdezhen, we travel to Xi'an where we visit, among other things, the Terracotta Army and a museum. Then we continue to Beijing for visits including the Forbidden City and the Great Wall of China.
Terra's Ceramic Tour is accompanied by our English-speaking Chinese partners Joe and Qiaofang.
