Delft fizzes as a Ceramics City!
Every year, on the last weekend of June, the Market in Delft is occupied by 80 stalls featuring an international selection of ceramics. On Sunday, June 28, the market is free for everyone to visit from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The Market is filled with visitors and tourists; a delightful combination of strolling along the stalls and meeting the artists themselves, perhaps making an unforgettable purchase, and then rounding off this experience with a fresh coffee or a cool refreshment.
In this dynamic of the Delft Ceramics Days, there are many initiatives that support this annual event. Galleries and institutions, in the lead-up to this weekend, participate with various ceramic exhibitions. For example, in the Oude Kerk there is a world exhibition called Common Ground featuring ceramics from five continents (see also elsewhere in this magazine) and in the Genestetkerk a ceramic installation by Ellen Rijsdorp is on display.
