The Van Achterbergh-Domhof Foundation has awarded the Van Achterbergh Prize 2026 to studioZAND, the joint studio of Frans Ottink and Erna Huppelschoten in Amersfoort. The biennial prize, consisting of an amount of €15,000, is awarded to individuals or institutions that make a special contribution to the development of ceramic art and ceramics in the Netherlands.
The jury praises studioZAND for their exceptional and long-standing dedication to contemporary Dutch ceramics, and in particular to porcelain. For decades, the studio has been a constant presence within the ceramic field. Ottink and Huppelschoten work from a shared commitment to material, craftsmanship, and the transmission of knowledge, yet each with a completely individual artistic signature.
This exhibition is a tribute to studioZAND, to Frans and Erna, with whom Galerie Terra Delft has had a long and fruitful relationship.
